Meet The Commander


 

 

 

1LT Dwayne Hodges has over ten years of military experience, including time served on active duty with the Reserve/Guard both as an enlisted 95B Military Police Officer and a 25A Signal Communications Officer.  He has been a member of the NJARNG since February 2004.

In April 2006 Commander Hodges completed Officer Transportation School and earned his United States Paratrooper Badge. 

Before taking command of the 253rd Transportation Company in June, 2005, he was assigned as the Task Force S-6 Signal Communications Officer for a Mechanized Light Infantry Battalion in the Middle East.  Prior to this he served his first assignment as a newly commissioned 2LT as a Platoon Leader for a Light Troposphere Company. 

Additional duties as a Commissioned Officer to date have included :  Company XO,  Company Operations Officer,  Public Relations Officer,  Human Resource EO Officer,  Unit Safety Officer,  Task Force Information MGT Officer (IMO),  Task Force Telephone Control Officer (TCO) and  Task Force Information Assurance Security Officer (IASO).

1LT Hodges Service Schooling and Training include Army Basic Training,  Army Transportation School,  Military Police School Phase 1 & 2,  Primary Leadership Development Course,  Basic Non Commissioned Officer Course,  Signal Officer Basic Course,  Distributive Learning Equipment Course,  Distributive Learning Instructor Course,  Distributive Learning Equipment Course,  Distributive Learning Instructor Course,  Cisco School of Information Technology,  and 50 Maintenance Technical Course. 

His civilian education consists of a BA in Sociology,  Criminal Justice.  A Masters in Science:  Public Administration:  MGT. A Masters in Science: Information Technologies.

1LT Hodges decorations, badges and awards include the following:   ARCOM, AAM w/10LC,  ARCAM w/10LC,  NDSM w/Bronze Star,  AFSM w/M/Bronze Hourglass ,  Army Over Seas Ribbon,  Multinational Forces & Observers Medal,  Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal,  Distinguished German Efficiency Badge, ASR,  NCOPD w/#2,  Expert Marksmanship Badge w/Granade/Rifle/Pistol,  Physical Fitness Excellence w/#5,  Civil Aid to Authority w/#2.

He is currently Active Duty Army (AGR) assigned to the NJARNG Joint Force HQ Joint Training (J3T) as the Distributive Learning/Training Manager for the NJARNG.   1LT Hodges is also a part time adjunct instructor teaching undergraduate college courses in Sociology, Criminal Law, Criminal Justice and Juvenile Delinquency.
